Coercive measures
Various coercive measures are available to the pre-trial investigation authorities to ensure the investigation of the crime, the trial and the enforcement of the sentence. The use of several coercive measures is decided by the police. These include, for example; apprehension, arrest, taking of personal identifying characteristics, seizure and house search.
Coercive measures cases dealt with by district courts include remand, travel bans imposed instead of remand, restraint on alienation, sequestration and permits for telecommunications interception, traffic data monitoring and technical surveillance.
